Confirmation
Confirmation, one of the three sacraments of initiation, unites the baptized more closely to the Church. Strengthened by the gift of the Holy Spirit, the confirmed are called to live out more fully their baptismal mission of spreading the faith by word and deed. Sacramental preparation classes help the Confirmation candidates to dig deeper into the mysteries of their faith while providing a comprehensive catechesis for the sacrament so that they might more readily live out this evangelical mission.
Confirmation for High School Students
Confirmation is a two year process, usually taking place in 9th and 10th grade. The first year is mainly participation in the high school youth group the second year consists of sacramental preparation classes.
In addition to the online registration, we will need an official copy of your child’s baptism certificate with record of his/her first communion.
With the registration, we will also need the following forms filled out each year:
One per Family (for all San Marco Parish classes and programs – youth ministry, religious education, altar servers)
Adult Confirmation Preparation
Adults wishing to receive the sacrament of confirmation should contact Arielle Harms or the parish office. Adult confirmation preparation is tailored to the catechetical needs of the candidates. While class schedules will be modified to fit individual circumstances, usually classes start in January for reception of Confirmation in the spring.
